HEATbox Quickstart Guide
Welcome to Your HEATbox!
Your HEATbox (Heat Emergency Action Training Box) is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to handle heat-related emergencies effectively. Follow this quickstart guide to get familiar with your new HEATbox and start your training journey.
1. Check Your Components
Upon receiving your HEATbox, please ensure all the following components are included:
Step-by-Step Video Brochure: This brochure contains 7 video chapters that guide you through various heat stress scenarios and training exercises.
6-Page Flipbook: Each page corresponds to a chapter in the video series, providing written instructions to reinforce your training.
Three Color-Coded Insert Boxes:
Red Box (First Aid Basics): Contains tools needed for basic first aid and is used in Chapter 1.
Blue Box (Hydration): Contains items related to hydration and correlates with Chapter 2.
Dark Red Box (Heat Stress): Contains items used in Chapters 3-6, covering topics from heat cramps to heat stroke.
OSHA Heat Stress Prevention Poster: A guide to display in your workplace to promote awareness and prevention.
2. Test Your Video Brochure
Before starting, ensure the video brochure and all 7 buttons function correctly. Each button corresponds to a chapter that will guide you through specific heat-related scenarios.
3. Begin Your Training
Your training is divided into 7 chapters, each with a video and corresponding page in the flipbook:
Chapter 1: Introduction to Heat Stress - Learn the basics of heat stress and the importance of first aid.
Chapter 2: Heat Rash - Understand how to recognize and treat heat rash.
Chapter 3: Heat Cramps - Learn how to prevent and respond to heat cramps.
Chapter 4: Heat Exhaustion - Discover the signs and first aid steps for heat exhaustion.
Chapter 5: Heat Stroke - Gain crucial knowledge on managing life-threatening heat stroke.
